Kitui Central MP, Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, CBS, on Saturday reassured residents of his firm commitment to transform Kitui County as he reaffirmed his 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Dr. Mulu, who attended the burial of the late Joseph Malusi Kakula (Wa Kakuu) at Kabaa Village in Kyangwithya East, later joined congregants at Kyamathyaka Village to celebrate the 23rd priestly anniversary of Rev. Fr. Richard Kyenze.
Addressing mourners and faithful, the respected economist and development expert urged Kitui residents to prepare for the future by acquiring national identification cards and voter’s cards in readiness for the 2027 elections.
“Kitui’s transformation will depend on the choices we make in 2027. I am ready to offer myself for the governorship so that together we can unlock the county’s full potential,” Dr. Mulu emphasized.
He assured residents that his leadership will prioritize equitable development, youth empowerment, and strengthening of social services across the county, adding that Kitui’s challenges require visionary leadership rooted in experience, accountability, and inclusivity.
The MP, who has earned national recognition for his role in parliamentary budget oversight, was lauded by local leaders for his consistency and development record.
The events were also graced by Kyangwithya West MCA Christopher Nzilu, former Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. George Ndoto, clergy, and community members who pledged support for Dr. Mulu’s bid.
Residents described him as the beacon of hope for Kitui’s future, noting that his track record in both public service and development planning makes him best placed to steer the county into a new era of prosperity.
As 2027 draws nearer, Dr. Mulu’s message of unity, preparedness, and visionary leadership continues to gain momentum, positioning him as a front-runner in the race to succeed Governor Julius Malombe.
