Kitui Central Member of Parliament and incoming Kitui County Governor, Dr. Makali Mulu, has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, accusing him of failing to deliver on the promises made to Kenyans during the 2022 General Election.
Speaking during the issuance of bursaries to more than 2,000 students at Kyangwithya East in Kitui Central Constituency, Dr. Makali faulted the Kenya Kwanza administration for what he termed as unfulfilled manifesto pledges and misplaced blame on opposition leaders.
Dr. Makali took particular issue with President Ruto’s recent remarks targeting Wiper Democratic Movement leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, where the Head of State alleged that Kalonzo failed to tarmac roads in Ukambani during his tenure as Vice President. Makali dismissed the claims, stating that Kalonzo could not be blamed for shortcomings of a government in which he did not wield unilateral power.
“Kalonzo Musyoka could not work as an individual. Government is collective responsibility. If the President truly claims to care for the Kamba community, let him tarmac the roads he now blames Kalonzo for,” Makali asserted.
The Kitui Central MP described Kalonzo Musyoka as a leader of integrity, noting that among Kenya’s senior politicians, Kalonzo stands out as the only one without political or ethical blemish. He termed the Wiper leader as the most suitable candidate to rescue the country from its current challenges.
“Kalonzo Musyoka has no scar as a national leader. He is the chosen one to rescue Kenya and restore hope to the people,” Makali said.
He went on to urge all communities across the country to rally behind Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid in the 2027 General Election, emphasizing the need for unity and issue-based leadership.
Dr. Makali also made a direct appeal to the youth, particularly Generation Z, calling on them to register as voters and acquire voter cards in large numbers to actively participate in shaping the country’s future.
“The power is in your hands. Register as voters and come out in large numbers to vote for Kalonzo Musyoka in 2027,” he urged.
The bursary issuance event underscored Dr. Makali’s continued focus on education support even as he intensifies his political messaging, blending development initiatives with a strong push for political realignment ahead of the next general election.
