Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s legacy in transforming healthcare in Kitui County is increasingly speaking for itself, with his administration taking primary healthcare services closer to residents through the construction and commissioning of dispensaries across the county.
At the heart of Governor Malombe’s health agenda is a vision of having a health facility within reach of every village. With Kitui County comprising 247 villages, the initiative is aimed at ensuring residents can access essential healthcare services without travelling long distances.
Every Friday, Governor Malombe has continued to commission dispensaries in different wards, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to expanding healthcare infrastructure at the grassroots.
Importantly, the Governor is not merely commissioning buildings for publicity they are fully functional health facilities, providing essential medical services to residents and strengthening primary healthcare delivery within communities.
The facilities are expected to help ease pressure on major hospitals while improving access to maternal and child healthcare, treatment of common illnesses, preventive services and other essential medical interventions.
With dispensaries continuing to come on stream across the county, Governor Malombe is steadily building a lasting health legacy bringing healthcare closer to the people, one ward and one village at a time.
