Kitui Central is steadily emerging as a beacon of youth empowerment, thanks to the unwavering efforts of Hon. Boniface Musambi, the Director of Coordination at State House and a 2027 parliamentary hopeful. Musambi has yet again underscored his passion for education by facilitating the enrolment of 889 students from Kitui Central and the greater Ukambani region into one of the county’s leading Technical Training Colleges.
The launch, hosted at Yumbisye Secondary School, was a colourful occasion led by the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Hon. Salim Mvurya, who lauded Musambi’s vision of preparing a skilled generation for the future.
This latest intake represents the fourth cohort of beneficiaries under Musambi’s education empowerment initiative, which has steadily grown since January 2024. The programme began with 300 students, expanded to 500 in May 2024, and added a further 714 in April 2025. With the latest group of 889, Musambi’s efforts now stand out as one of the largest privately-driven youth training initiatives in the region.
Speaking during the event, Musambi stressed that technical training remains a powerful tool for transforming lives. “Our young people need skills that place them at the heart of innovation and self-reliance. With the right training, they will not only access jobs but also create opportunities for others,” he remarked.
CS Mvurya echoed this sentiment, noting that Musambi’s initiative aligns closely with the Kenya Kwanza Government’s agenda of ensuring every youth has access to market-relevant skills. “What Hon. Musambi is doing goes beyond education; it is nation-building. A skilled workforce is the engine that will drive Kenya’s industrial and economic transformation,” he said.
He further challenged the beneficiaries to remain focused, urging them to seize government opportunities and position themselves as “vital drivers of Kenya’s socio-economic growth.”
The programme continues to enhance Musambi’s reputation as a champion of youth empowerment, not only in Kitui Central but across Ukambani. By mobilising hundreds of students towards technical and vocational training, he has aligned his leadership journey with Kenya’s long-term vision of nurturing a knowledge-based economy where no youth is left behind.
