The meeting focused on deliberations surrounding the Division of Revenue Bill, 2026 (National Assembly Bills No. 2 of 2026), a critical piece of legislation that determines how revenue is shared between the national and county governments.
Mutinda, who continues to position herself as a strong voice for Nairobi residents, underscored the importance of the Bill in ensuring counties receive adequate funding to effectively deliver essential services. The session brought together key stakeholders from Parliament and the National Treasury, providing a platform to interrogate fiscal projections, expenditure priorities, and policy implications tied to the revenue-sharing framework.
Mutinda highlighted the critical oversight role of Parliament in safeguarding public resources, calling for enhanced accountability and prudent financial planning to maximize the impact of devolved funds.
As the 2027 political landscape begins to take shape, Mutinda’s active engagement in national economic discussions continues to solidify her profile as a capable and forward-thinking leader, keen on championing the interests of Nairobi residents through effective legislation and oversight.
