Shock in Kitui as Dead Newborn Baby Found Dumped Naked on Rubbish Bin

Residents of Kitui town woke up to a heartbreaking scene this morning after discovering the body of a newborn baby abandoned on top of a rubbish bin near the town’s central market. The shocking incident has left the community in deep grief and outrage.

According to eyewitnesses, the infant had been dumped naked, without even being wrapped in clothes, and left exposed on the bin. Distressed members of the public immediately alerted authorities, who arrived at the scene and confirmed that the baby had already died. The body was later taken to Kitui County Funeral Home.

Speaking to the press, an officer from the Kitui County Office of Gender condemned the act in the strongest terms, describing it as “a cruel, inhuman and degrading act against the most vulnerable members of society.”

“This is against humanity and cannot be tolerated. Every child deserves love, care, and protection. As a community, we must reject such actions and stand up for the rights of children,” she said.

Police have since launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to trace the individual responsible. Law enforcement officers have assured the public that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness and that justice will be pursued.

The grim discovery has sparked anger and debate within Kitui, with residents urging for stronger awareness campaigns and better support systems for struggling mothers to help prevent such tragedies in the future.
