Wavinya Ndeti Positions Machakos as Premier Healthcare Training Hub With Strategic Medical Partnership

The Machakos County Government has taken another bold step in enhancing healthcare training and service delivery after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nairobi Women’s Hospital College to facilitate student placement and clinical rotations within county health facilities.

The agreement, executed through the Department of Health, will provide medical students with a platform to gain practical clinical experience, engage in Continuing Medical Education (CME), and participate in community health outreach programs. The initiative is designed to sharpen their professional competencies and prepare them for real-world healthcare environments.

Speaking on the new partnership, Governor Wavinya Ndeti underscored her administration’s commitment to building a strong and skilled health workforce capable of serving the people of Machakos with excellence.

“Our goal is to ensure that Machakos remains at the forefront of quality healthcare delivery,” Governor Wavinya always she noteses . “By opening our facilities to medical trainees and investing in capacity-building initiatives, we are not only strengthening our health sector but also nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.”

Under Governor Wavinya’s leadership, Machakos has steadily enhanced its healthcare systems through strategic partnerships, infrastructure improvements, and continued investment in medical personnel. The latest collaboration aligns with her broader vision to position Machakos as a healthcare hub in the region, where residents receive world-class services while students benefit from structured, hands-on training programs.

County Health officials emphasized that the agreement reflects Governor Wavinya’s proactive approach to improving health outcomes, boosting professional standards, and ensuring a sustainable pool of skilled practitioners to serve the community.
