Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has commissioned the grading and murraming of the 8-kilometre Milaani Kamaimba Road, marking a significant step towards improving rural connectivity and easing the movement of people and goods. The road connects Milaani Sub-location to neighbouring areas, enhancing accessibility and supporting economic activities within the region.
The improved road is expected to boost agricultural production along River Tana, where farmers grow tomatoes, watermelons and maize for local consumption and supply to neighbouring counties and export markets. The improved accessibility will enable farmers to transport their produce more efficiently, reduce transportation challenges and strengthen market access, contributing to food security and improved household incomes.
Governor Wavinya reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to investing in rural road infrastructure as part of its broader development agenda. She noted that improved road networks remain essential in connecting communities, supporting agricultural activities and opening up rural areas to economic opportunities, ensuring farmers can access markets and residents benefit from better connectivity.
