Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has commissioned the Kikule Market Borehole in Muthesya Ward, a project aimed at improving access to clean and reliable water for residents and supporting agricultural activities in the area.
The project, implemented in partnership with Project Maji, includes equipping the borehole and extending water distribution to three water points. It is expected to benefit Kikule Market and more than 1,000 residents across Kikule Sub-location by bringing water closer to households and improving access to the essential resource for domestic use.
The borehole will also support local farmers, particularly those engaged in vegetable farming, by providing water for irrigation and livestock production, thereby enhancing agricultural productivity and livelihoods. Governor Wavinya thanked Project Maji for its partnership, reaffirming her administration’s commitment to advancing the Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni initiative through investments in water access, food security and improved household incomes.
