In a vibrant and well-attended ceremony at his Mamole home in Kitui Rural, Yatta Kwa Vonza Member of County Assembly (MCA), Hon. Mark Kitute Nding’o, hosted a grand thanksgiving event to appreciate his constituents and present his midterm development report.
The colorful occasion, which drew hundreds of residents and dignitaries, served as a platform for Hon. Nding’o to highlight key development milestones achieved during his tenure so far. Among the major achievements outlined in his scorecard were enhanced road infrastructure, improved access to water, support for local schools, youth empowerment programs, and facilitation of bursaries to needy learners.
“Today, I am not only here to say thank you for the trust you gave me, but also to report back on the journey we’ve walked together,” said the MCA during his address. “We have made significant progress, and I promise to do even more as we move forward.”
A major highlight of the day was the official launch of the Mark Kitute Nding’o Foundation, a charitable initiative aimed at supporting bright but needy students across the ward. The MCA stated that the foundation will focus on education, mentorship, and community welfare.
“Our mission is to ensure that no child is left behind due to poverty. As time goes by, the foundation’s reach will extend beyond Kitui, serving deserving children across the nation,” Hon. Nding’o affirmed.
The event was graced by Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, who served as the chief guest. In his remarks, Governor Malombe commended the MCA for his commitment to service delivery and community development, saying such initiatives complement the county government’s broader development agenda.
Also in attendance were Kitui Central MP Dr. Makali Mulu, Nominated Senator Beth Syengo, members of the Kitui County Assembly, clergy, professionals, and other leaders who praised Hon. Nding’o for his transparency, dedication, and people-centered leadership.
The event blended tradition, celebration, and reflection featuring cultural performances, prayers, and testimonies from residents who have directly benefitted from the MCA’s programs.
Hon. Nding’o concluded by urging residents to stay united, participate in local development activities, and hold leaders accountable through dialogue and constructive engagement.
“Development is not a one-man show. It’s a shared responsibility between leaders and the people. I thank you all for walking this journey with me.”
The day’s event marked a significant milestone not only in Hon. Nding’o’s political journey but also in setting a precedent for accountable and visionary leadership within Kitui County.
