Kibwezi West Member of Parliament Hon. Mwengi Mutuse on Saturday represented President William Ruto and his Deputy, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, as the Chief Guest during the Endebes Constituency empowerment drive an event marked with overwhelming support and optimism from the residents.
In his address, the legislator took the opportunity to outline a number of key milestones the Kenya Kwanza Government has achieved since assuming office, noting that the initiatives are significantly transforming the lives of ordinary Kenyans.
Hon. Mutuse praised the President’s efforts in lowering the cost of farm input, citing the reduction of fertilizer prices from Ksh 7,500 to Ksh 2,500. According to him, this step has boosted agricultural productivity and placed Kenya on course to achieving food security while progressively consigning hunger to the past.
He further highlighted the revival of stalled road projects that had been abandoned under the previous administration. The legislator underscored that, besides resuming the incomplete infrastructure projects, new road networks are being opened across various regions to improve connectivity and spur economic growth.
“The economy continues to register positive indicators. Within the last two years, Kenya has overtaken Angola and Ethiopia to become the 6th largest economy in Africa,” Hon. Mutuse noted.
He was accompanied by a host of national leaders including Sir Farouk Kibet, Endebes MP Hon. Robert Pukose, Hons. John Waluke, Kakai Bisau, Fedinard Wanyonyi and Women Representative Lillian Siyoi among others.
Hon. Mutuse thanked the people of Endebes for their unwavering support to President William Ruto’s administration, stressing that their overwhelming backing over the last two electoral cycles has enabled the current government to deliver on its development agenda.
“Asante Sana Endebes for your warmth and support for TWO TERMS for President William Ruto,” he expressed, pledging that they will return again “Tutarudi Tena.”
The empowerment drive drew hundreds of residents who turned up to witness the government’s efforts to uplift communities and spur growth at the grassroots level.
