Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the county’s healthcare system, describing quality health services as “the backbone of a thriving county.”
Addressing the media during a press conference , Governor Wavinya highlighted the notable progress her government has made in improving health facilities, expanding access, and enhancing service delivery across the county.
“Quality healthcare is the backbone of a thriving county. My administration has invested heavily in modernizing our hospitals and ensuring residents receive the care they deserve,” she stated.
The governor underscored her administration’s deliberate efforts to address pressing health challenges, including the ongoing nurses’ strike. She assured residents that her government is already engaging with union leaders to reach an amicable solution and restore normal services as quickly as possible.
“We remain committed to engaging nurses’ union leaders to resolve the ongoing strike. Our priority is to ensure that healthcare delivery is not interrupted and that every Machakos resident continues to receive timely and efficient services,” she said.
Governor Wavinya further noted that since assuming office, her government has rolled out a number of transformative initiatives in the health sector, ranging from upgrading medical infrastructure to recruiting more health workers and improving essential drug supply.
She appealed for continued support and patience from the public as her administration works tirelessly to build a resilient and responsive health system.
“Our goal is to make Machakos a model county in healthcare provision. We are determined, focused and fully committed to delivering on that promise,” the governor affirmed.
