Kwa Vonza FC Retain Fuliza Tournament Cup Title in Thrilling Second Edition
Vonza FC have successfully defended their Fuliza Tournament Cup title after emerging champions of the second edition of the tournament, reaffirming their dominance in local grassroots football.

The much-anticipated competition was organized by Musyoka Munyao, popularly known as Animal, and brought together talented teams from across the region in a colourful display of skill, discipline and sportsmanship. The final attracted a large crowd of football fans, youth leaders and local residents, highlighting the growing popularity of the tournament.

Speaking to members of the press, Munyao revealed that the idea behind the Fuliza Tournament Cup was to keep young people positively engaged. He explained that the tournament was initiated to ensure youths remain busy and focused, instead of being drawn into unproductive or harmful activities. He added that the competition also serves as a platform for nurturing and exposing football talent at the grassroots level.“The main goal is to give our youths something meaningful to do while identifying and developing their talents through sports,” Munyao noted.

The event was graced by the Kitui West incoming Member of Parliament, Hon. Generali Fredrick Kimanga, who attended as the chief guest. His presence underscored the importance of sports in youth empowerment and community development. Hon. Kimanga commended the organizers for using football as a tool to unite the community and inspire young people to pursue their talents.

Kwa Vonza FC’s victory in the second edition cements their status as the defending champions of the Fuliza Tournament Cup, setting the bar high for future competitions. The tournament continues to grow into a key sporting event in the area, offering hope and opportunity to many young footballers aspiring for greater heights.
