A storm is brewing in Mbooni Constituency after local leaders launched a scathing attack on area Member of Parliament Erustus Kivasu Nzioka, accusing him of negligence, intimidation, and misuse of public resources in an exclusive interview with Lower Eastern Digital Media.

In a hard-hitting on-the-ground interview, one local leader openly challenged the MP, accusing him of abandoning critical public institutions while engaging in what he termed “chest-thumping politics.”
“Shame on you, Hon. Kivasu Nzioka. Your negligence, ignorance, and empty chest-thumping have cost this constituency dearly,” the leader said. “Instead of parading your cronies to defend you, take a walk with me to Katikomu Primary School and tell the people what you have done there.”
According to the leader, Katikomu Primary School presents a grim picture of neglect despite being the only primary school in the area. He claimed the institution has no fence, no gate, and no classrooms constructed through government intervention, noting that existing structures were put up by donors. Even more alarming, he alleged that the school has been without electricity for eight years after a transformer reportedly exploded and was never replaced.

“For eight years, the transformer has remained unrepaired. There is no power, yet you parade people to sing praises,” he said.
Allegations of Ignored Appeals and Intimidation
The local leaders further disclosed that they had repeatedly informed the MP about the state of the school and the faulty transformer for over four years, but their pleas were allegedly ignored.
“We raised this matter time and again. Instead of action, he told me to ‘work with his team,’ which I understood as an attempt to silence me,” one leader claimed, adding that he refused to be co-opted.

The leaders accused the MP of preferring political loyalty over service delivery, alleging that dissenting voices are branded as enemies or agents of his political rivals.
“Any time we stand up for our rights as taxpayers, he claims we are funded by his opponents. That is false,” the leader said.
NGCDF Under Fire
The interview also turned the spotlight on the management of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF). The leaders criticized what they described as tokenism and unequal distribution of resources.
“Stop parading our mothers and fathers and giving them fifty bob to defend you. The NG-CDF is not your personal salary; it is taxpayers’ money,” the leader charged, calling for equitable and transparent allocation of development funds across the constituency.

In a direct rebuttal to claims of media manipulation, the leaders dismissed suggestions that Lower Eastern Digital Media or local activists could be sponsored to fight the MP.
“Do you really think someone can pay Lower Eastern Digital Media to fight you? That is not their work,” the leader posed rhetorically.
Politics of Performance, Not Patronage
In a pointed conclusion, the local leader warned that political survival in Mbooni will no longer be determined by proximity to national political heavyweights.

“This time round, no leader will hang around Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to get elected. It is your record what you did or failed to do for the people that will determine your fate,” he said
