Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti will on Monday, February 10, 2026, preside over the pass-out ceremony for the Machakos Youth Service (MYS) Cohort 2 trainees, in an event that underscores her administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and skills development.
The ceremony will take place at the Governor’s Office, White House, and will bring together trainees, their parents and guardians, as well as senior county officials. Parents and guardians have been formally invited to witness the milestone, with each trainee allowed to be accompanied by a maximum of two guardians.
According to the county administration, all invited guests are expected to be seated by 7:00 a.m. to allow the programme to proceed as scheduled.
Under Governor Ndeti’s leadership, the Machakos County Government has continued to prioritize youth-focused initiatives aimed at equipping young people with practical skills, discipline, and opportunities for personal growth. The MYS programme is one of the flagship interventions designed to prepare youths for further training and eventual integration into the workforce.
Parents have been advised to carry their sons’ and daughters’ personal utilities, including items such as soap and toothpaste, as the trainees will not return home after the ceremony. Instead, they are scheduled to proceed directly to college the following day to continue with their training.
County officials noted that the structured transition reflects the discipline and readiness instilled in the trainees during the programme, as well as the county government’s commitment to ensuring continuity in their academic and professional development.
The pass-out ceremony marks another significant milestone in Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s agenda of nurturing a skilled, disciplined, and empowered youth population as a foundation for Machakos County’s long-term socio-economic growth.
