Governor Wavinya Ndeti Pledges to Revive Agriculture and Ensure Food Security in County

During the State of the County Address held at the County Assembly chambers, Governor Wavinya Ndeti delivered a passionate speech on the state of agriculture and food security in the county.

Governor Ndeti emphasized that food security was not a privilege but a fundamental right, stating that “a hungry nation isn’t a productive nation.” She lamented the state of agriculture when she assumed office, describing it as being in “a state of despair” where farmers had largely given up hope.

She assured residents that her administration was committed to transforming the agricultural sector through targeted interventions aimed at supporting farmers, improving productivity, and guaranteeing food security for all. Governor Ndeti highlighted that revitalizing agriculture was a top priority, framing it as essential not only for the county’s economic growth but also for the well-being of its people.

Her address was met with approval from county assembly members, who praised her proactive approach in tackling what she described as a critical challenge facing the county.

Governor Ndeti’s speech underscored her resolve to place agriculture and food security at the heart of her governance, signaling a renewed focus on empowering farmers and ensuring that no resident goes hungry.
