Wiper Patriotic Front leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly condemned alleged police brutality following the hospitalisation of Raphael Tuju, who is in critical condition at Karen Hospital.
Kalonzo, who visited Tuju alongside Eugene Wamalwa and advocate Ndegwa Njiru, said the former Cabinet Secretary is undergoing scans to assess suspected spinal injuries allegedly inflicted by police during a forceful arrest.
The former Vice President criticised the continued police presence at Tuju’s hospital room, terming it as intimidation and a violation of his rights.
He also took aim at President William Ruto, urging him to order the immediate withdrawal of officers and address what he termed as a “daylight land grab.”
Kalonzo affirmed that he and other leaders will stand firmly with Tuju until his full recovery, as pressure mounts over the conduct of security agencies.
