Machakos County Upgrades Referral Hospital Kitchen to Boost Patient Care

The County Government of Machakos has commissioned modern kitchen equipment at the Machakos County Referral Hospital, marking a major milestone in improving healthcare services and patient welfare.Speaking during the commissioning, county leadership noted that the hospital kitchen was previously in a poor state and inadequately equipped to effectively serve patients and staff. The newly upgraded facility is now fully equipped to prepare and serve meals to more than 1,000 people daily.The transformation is expected to significantly improve food safety standards, operational efficiency, and nutrition services for patients, healthcare workers, and caregivers.County officials said the upgrade reflects Machakos’ continued commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, promoting dignity in service delivery, and ensuring quality care for residents across the county.
