Kimanga Warns Leaders Against Misleading Public Over Kabati Development Projects

The incoming Kitui West parliamentary hopeful, Generali Fredrick Kimanga, has warned leaders against misleading members of the public regarding the proposed Kabati Market and Affordable Housing projects, saying residents deserve truthful and transparent leadership.

Speaking at Kauwi during the FSA Kabati AGM, Hon. Kimanga clarified that the Ksh 300 million Kabati Market project and the Ksh 200 million Affordable Housing Programme were secured through the State Department for Housing and Urban Development in collaboration with the County Government of Kitui.

He revealed that the negotiations for the projects were initiated during the Mashujaa Day celebrations held at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui, under the leadership of Julius Malombe.

Hon. Kimanga emphasized that the county government remains the legal custodian of public land, making cooperation between the national and county governments essential for such major development projects to be implemented successfully.

He stated that the modern Kabati Market will be constructed at the current market site and is expected to improve business activities, create employment opportunities and provide traders with a better working environment.

The outspoken leader further noted that the Affordable Housing project will not only provide decent housing but will also create jobs for local youths, fundis and suppliers during the construction phase.

Kimanga criticized leaders whom he accused of spreading false information and attempting to claim credit for projects they did not participate in negotiating.

He urged leaders to stop politicizing development and instead focus on working together for the benefit of wananchi.

Residents who attended the AGM welcomed the clarification, saying the projects will greatly boost economic growth and development in Kabati and the larger Kitui West region.
