Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to inclusive and people centred development after concluding her development tour of Matungulu East Ward with the inspection of the ongoing grading and murraming of the Kalala, Kanzalu Road and a public engagement forum at Katwanyaa Market.
The Governor inspected the progress of the strategic road project, noting that the improved road will significantly enhance connectivity within the ward, making it easier for residents to access markets, schools, healthcare facilities, and other essential services. Once completed, the road is expected to ease the movement of people and goods, stimulate local trade, and unlock greater economic opportunities for the surrounding communities.
Governor Wavinya emphasized that investment in road infrastructure remains a key pillar of her administration’s development agenda, aimed at improving livelihoods by connecting communities and supporting socio-economic growth across Machakos County.
The Governor later met residents at Katwanyaa Market, where she provided a comprehensive update on completed projects, ongoing development initiatives, and those planned for implementation in the ward. She reaffirmed that her administration remains transparent and accountable by keeping residents informed on the progress of government programmes.
During the engagement, Governor Wavinya also listened to the views, priorities, and concerns raised by members of the public, reiterating that meaningful public participation remains central to her leadership and decision making process.
She assured residents that their input will continue to guide the county’s development priorities, underscoring her administration’s unwavering commitment to implementing impactful projects that improve the quality of life and ensure no community is left behind.
