Presidential Office official Elijah Kilii has called on residents of Ukambani and Kenyans across the country to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA), saying the government health insurance programme is enabling millions of citizens to access quality medical services whenever they fall ill.
Speaking as the chief guest during a fundraising event for the completion of the GNCA Church in Kyatune, Kitui South Constituency, Kilii urged wananchi not to be misled by individuals spreading false information about SHA.
He emphasized that the programme is operational and continues to benefit many Kenyans, noting that registering with SHA guarantees access to affordable healthcare for individuals and their families when they need medical attention.
Kilii appealed to the public to ignore critics who are discouraging citizens from enrolling in the scheme, saying such misinformation only denies deserving Kenyans the opportunity to benefit from government healthcare services.
The event, which focused on mobilizing resources to complete the church’s construction, brought together church leaders, faithful, and local residents. It was led by the General Secretary of the GNCA Churches in Kenya, Rev. Peter Mwangangi, who commended Kilii for his continued support of church development initiatives across the country.
Kilii has been at the forefront of supporting church construction projects through various fundraising initiatives, reaffirming his commitment to partnering with faith-based organizations in promoting community development and social transformation.
He concluded by encouraging Kenyans to embrace government programmes aimed at improving their welfare, stressing that SHA remains one of the key pillars in ensuring every citizen has access to reliable and affordable healthcare.
