Best Rock SACCO Holds Education Day at Kitui ATC to Guide Members on Transition to Delegates System

Best Rock SACCO held a successful Education Day at the Kitui Agricultural Training Centre (ATC), bringing together members for critical sensitization on the new cooperative governance guidelines issued by the Commissioner of Cooperatives.

The event focused on educating members about the transition from the traditional Annual General Meeting (AGM) model to a delegates system, a requirement under cooperative laws for SACCOs with over 5,000 members.

Addressing the members of press, Carolyne Munyao, an officer from Best Rock SACCO, explained that the shift is meant to enhance representation, promote efficiency and ensure that every member’s voice is heard more effectively through elected delegates.

Munyao encouraged members to turn up in large numbers during the upcoming delegates meetings, stressing that their ideas and views are crucial in shaping the SACCO’s future development.

She also commended the Commissioner of Cooperatives for providing clear directives that ensure each member is well reached and represented under the new system. Munyao noted that the guidelines will strengthen cooperative governance and help SACCOs deliver better services.

The Education Day served as an important platform for members to understand the changes, ask questions and prepare for a more structured and representative leadership framework as Best Rock SACCO aligns itself with national cooperative reforms.
