Foreign MCA Kavyu Under Fire: Kananie–Mathatani Residents Slam Him for Failure, Empty Talk, and Political Greed

Anger and disappointment are rising among residents of Kananie–Mathatani Ward as their so-called leader, Hon. Kavyu, faces mounting criticism for what locals describe as total failure, arrogance, and political deceit. The first-term MCA, who has now started parading himself as a “Mavoko MP in waiting,” is being dismissed by locals as a foreigner and a political tourist who has done absolutely nothing for the people of Machakos County.

Despite being entrusted with the responsibility to represent the people’s interests in the County Assembly, Kavyu has reportedly not brought a single motion, initiative, or meaningful development idea that can be traced back to Kananie–Mathatani. Instead, he has turned his focus to chest-thumping, endless self-promotion, and reckless political talk — actions that have angered even his former supporters.

“This man is a total disappointment. We can’t even point to one thing he has done since he was elected,” said a furious resident of Mathatani. “He spends his time making noise on social media, attacking imaginary enemies, and claiming he wants to be MP. MP of what, when he has failed miserably as an MCA?”

A Leader Without Vision or Substance

Inside the Machakos County Assembly, sources say Hon. Kavyu’s contribution has been empty and directionless. While other MCAs are drafting motions, debating policies, and fighting for their people’s welfare, Kavyu has earned a reputation for silence and absence. His lack of legislative output has exposed him as a leader without ideas, without substance, and without commitment to service delivery.

Observers now say that his dream to become Mavoko MP is nothing short of a political joke an insult to the intelligence of voters who demand leaders with vision, not pretenders seeking higher office for fame and personal gain.

“If he can’t move even a simple ward motion, what business does he have wanting to be an MP? Let him first prove he can serve one village before dreaming of leading an entire constituency,” said a youth leader in Kananie.

Kananie and Mathatani Label Him a “Foreigner MCA”

In the heart of Kananie and Mathatani, the message is loud and clear Hon. Kavyu is no longer seen as one of them. Locals have branded him a foreigner MCA, a man who neither understands their struggles nor cares to listen. His disconnect from the ground has become a public embarrassment, and his absence from community engagements speaks volumes about his leadership style.

“He only shows up during funerals and photo sessions. After that, he disappears back to town to yap about how he’ll be MP. We are done with this kind of politics,” one elder angrily remarked.

The residents say they expected roads, water projects, youth empowerment, and a voice in the Assembly but instead, they got a man obsessed with attention and personal ambition.

Voters Promise a Political Lesson

As the countdown to the 2027 elections begins, the people of Kananie–Mathatani are vowing to send a clear message to all non-performing leaders. They have warned Hon. Kavyu that his days of political deception are numbered.

“We will not allow a stranger to use us as a ladder for his selfish ambitions,” said a vocal youth mobilizer. “We gave him a chance, but he failed. This time, we are choosing leaders who know our problems and can deliver, not loudmouth foreigners with no record.”

Political analysts in Machakos say that Kavyu’s arrogance, poor performance, and premature campaign for a higher office have exposed his weaknesses beyond repair. Unless he makes an immediate turnaround, his name will go down in history as one of the most ineffective and misguided MCAs ever elected in Machakos County.
