Holy Family Kabati Parish youth have been urged to shun drug and substance abuse, embrace responsible leadership and actively participate in the democratic process as the country approaches the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a youth walk themed “Walking Together in Christ,” parish priest Fr. Julius Muthamba encouraged young people to stay focused on their future and avoid being misused by politicians for violence and political activities.
Fr. Muthamba urged eligible youths to acquire voters’ cards and vote wisely, reminding them that their vote is their voice. He cautioned them against allowing politicians to use them as goons, calling instead for peaceful and responsible political participation.
The priest also challenged the youth to use social media responsibly and avoid spreading harmful or misleading content.
Holy Family Kabati Parish Youth Moderator Samuel Fabian encouraged young people to remain united and actively participate in church and community programmes aimed at improving their wellbeing.
Catherine Musili, a youth from Kathivo, called on fellow young people to make positive choices, remain focused on their goals and resist behaviours that could negatively affect their future.

Meanwhile, Kauwi Senior Chief Tom Munyao issued a stern warning to individuals selling drugs and other harmful substances to young people. He said the authorities would take appropriate action against those involved, stressing that the law will take its course.
Area MCA Gabriel Munyao also encouraged the youth to remain disciplined, united and focused on building a better future.
The walk brought together the youth in a show of faith, unity and commitment to positive social change under the theme “Walking Together in Christ.”
