Fridah Makasi’s Popularity Surge Signals Strong Bid for Kitui Women Rep Seat in 2027

The political landscape of Kitui County is gradually taking shape ahead of the 2027 General Election, with indications now becoming clearer that the incoming woman leader, Hon. Fridah Makasi, is steadily positioning herself for the highly coveted Kitui County Women Representative seat under the Wiper Patriotic Front ticket.

Makasi, who has in recent months intensified her grassroots engagements across various wards in the county, is increasingly gaining political momentum and popularity among residents, women groups, youth, and church organizations. Her growing presence in social, religious, and community development activities has continued to strengthen her influence across the county.

Political observers in Kitui now believe that Makasi has strategically entered the women rep race early enough, giving her a strong advantage as she continues to build networks and connect with the electorate ahead of the 2027 polls.

The youthful and outspoken leader has been actively attending church functions, women empowerment meetings, funerals, fundraising events, and community gatherings, where she has consistently championed unity, empowerment of women and youth, and development-oriented leadership.

Her close association with the Wiper political movement, which enjoys massive support in Ukambani region, is also seen as a major boost to her political ambitions. Analysts argue that the Wiper Patriotic Front ticket could significantly strengthen her chances of clinching the seat due to the party’s deep-rooted support in Kitui County.

Residents from different parts of the county have continued to praise Makasi for what they describe as her humility, accessibility, and commitment to uplifting ordinary wananchi. Many believe her continued engagements with the people are helping her gain trust and acceptance at the grassroots level.

As the 2027 political temperatures slowly begin to rise, Fridah Makasi is now emerging as one of the key names expected to shape the race for the Kitui County Women Representative position, with her popularity seemingly growing day by day across the county.
