Governor Malombe Calls for Unity as Kitui Begins FY 2026/2027 Budget Consultations

Dr. Julius Malombe has called for unity and collaboration between the County Executive and the County Assembly as Kitui begins budget consultations for the 2026/2027 financial year.

Speaking during the opening of the Executive–Assembly Consultative Forum in Mutomo, Governor Malombe said leaders must put the interests of wananchi above politics and personal differences to accelerate development.

“We are here because our people expect leadership that is united, decisive, and focused on results,” he said.

The Governor highlighted key achievements under devolution, noting that 12,423 development projects have been implemented across Kitui since 2013, with the newly launched Infrastructure Projects Dashboard enhancing transparency and accountability.

Key priorities discussed include construction of 40 MCA ward offices, modern ECDE classrooms in all wards, recruitment of more ECDE teachers and VTC tutors, and improved road infrastructure across the county.

Governor Malombe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent resource management and effective service delivery, noting that unity between leaders remains key to Kitui’s growth and development.
