Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. on Tuesday held high-level discussions with L. Scott Cook, signaling renewed momentum in efforts to expand vocational and technical training opportunities for vulnerable children across the county.
During the meeting, the Governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to equipping young people with practical skills that enhance self-reliance and long-term economic empowerment. The talks centered on aligning shared development priorities, with both parties expressing interest in formalizing the collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
A key pillar of the proposed partnership is the involvement of the Africa Inland Church (AIC), whose established grassroots networks have been instrumental for Kenya’s Kids in strengthening institutional support and outreach.
Governor Mutula also highlighted the strategic importance of revitalizing AIC Kima Technical College, noting that upgrading its capacity would significantly boost access to quality technical education and skills training for local learners.
The engagement reflects the county government’s broader agenda to invest in human capital development and forge partnerships that deliver sustainable impact for communities.
