The Governor of Machakos County will tomorrow officially launch the countywide distribution of free certified seeds at Kathaana Market in Kangundo Sub County, in a major boost to agriculture and food security.
The initiative reflects the Governor’s strong commitment to empowering farmers and strengthening the county’s economic backbone. By providing free certified seeds, the county government aims to increase farm productivity, improve household incomes, and enhance food security for thousands of families.
“Agriculture is the lifeline of our people. When we support our farmers, we secure the future of Machakos,” the Governor said ahead of the launch.
The program marks a significant step in the Governor’s broader agenda to promote sustainable development and ensure every farming household has the tools needed to thrive.
