Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has inspected the ongoing construction works at Ithaeni Community Hospital, reaffirming her administration’s commitment to bringing quality and essential healthcare services closer to residents.
The facility, once completed, is expected to serve a catchment population of about 8,000 residents, significantly improving access to healthcare services in the area.
The hospital will feature Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services, a maternity and labour ward, an emergency delivery room, a mini-theatre, kitchen and laundry facilities, providing a wider range of essential medical services under one roof.
Governor Ndeti said the investment is aimed at ensuring residents, particularly expectant mothers and patients requiring emergency care, no longer have to travel long distances in search of medical attention.
The project is part of Governor Ndeti’s broader efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across Machakos County and ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to Mwananchi closer to home.
Once completed and operational, Ithaeni Community Hospital is expected to play a critical role in improving maternal and emergency healthcare outcomes while easing pressure on other health facilities in the region.
