H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti, EGH, has reaffirmed the County Government of Machakos’ commitment to building a high-performing, accountable and results oriented public service through strengthened performance management and evidence-based decision making.
The Governor hosted Ms. Lesego Tshuwa and Dr. Chukwuma Okolie, City Data Advisors from the Africa Mayoral Leadership Initiative (AMALI), South Africa, for a two day technical engagement aimed at enhancing institutional performance and improving service delivery across the county.
The discussions focused on strengthening the County’s Performance Management Framework, reviewing progress made under key development priorities, and exploring how data and performance analytics can support informed decision-making, improve accountability, and deliver measurable outcomes for residents.
Governor Wavinya Ndeti emphasized that effective governance is anchored on reliable data, continuous performance assessment, and a culture of accountability. She noted that leveraging evidence to guide planning and implementation is critical to accelerating sustainable development and ensuring that county programmes deliver tangible benefits to the people of Machakos.
As part of the engagement, the AMALI delegation will undertake site visits to ongoing development projects to gain first hand insights into the county’s implementation journey, assess progress, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery.
The collaboration underscores the County Government of Machakos’ strategic focus on innovation, institutional excellence, and responsive governance as it continues to strengthen systems that drive efficiency, transparency, and sustainable socio economic transformation.
