Governor Wavinya Ndeti has commissioned the Kivaani Health Centre Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Ultrasound Block in Kangundo East Ward, reaffirming her administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality, affordable and accessible healthcare across Machakos County.
The newly commissioned facility marks a significant milestone in the county’s ongoing investment in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and is expected to benefit more than 9,000 residents by bringing essential maternal and child health services closer to the community.
The modern MCH and Ultrasound Block will enhance safe deliveries, provide timely ultrasound services, improve maternal and child health outcomes, and reduce the need for expectant mothers to travel long distances in search of specialized care. The facility will also provide a more conducive working environment for healthcare workers, enabling them to deliver quality and efficient services.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Wavinya Ndeti reiterated that her administration remains focused on transforming the county’s healthcare system through strategic investments in modern medical infrastructure, equipping health facilities, ensuring a consistent supply of essential medicines, and strengthening the healthcare workforce.
She emphasized that improving healthcare services remains a key priority of her government, noting that every investment in health translates into healthier families, safer motherhood, and stronger communities.
The commissioning of the Kivaani Health Centre MCH and Ultrasound Block adds to the growing list of healthcare projects being implemented by Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s administration as it continues to deliver quality healthcare services and improve the well-being of residents across Machakos County.
