Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s administration has strengthened efforts to improve healthcare safety and infection prevention with the installation of a new incinerator at Kathiani Level 4 Hospital.
The facility will enhance the safe and responsible disposal of medical waste, helping reduce risks associated with improper handling of healthcare waste and creating a cleaner and safer environment for patients, healthcare workers and the surrounding community.
The investment reflects Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across Machakos County while ensuring that health facilities provide services in safe, hygienic and dignified environments.
The new incinerator will also support effective infection prevention and control measures by providing a reliable system for managing medical waste generated at the hospital.
According to the Governor’s administration, investments in essential hospital infrastructure remain critical to improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare services. By addressing both medical services and supporting infrastructure, the county is working to create health facilities that are safer, more functional and better equipped to serve residents.
The Kathiani Level 4 Hospital investment is therefore expected to contribute to improved hospital hygiene, enhanced environmental safety and more efficient healthcare delivery, further advancing Governor Ndeti’s agenda of accessible and quality healthcare for the people of Machakos County.
