Governor Wavinya Scores Major Win as Isuzu Breaks Ground in Machakos

In a bold and transformative stride towards industrial growth and economic revitalization, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to turning the county into a leading investment hub. This comes as Isuzu East Africa broke ground on a state-of-the-art industrial complex at Lukenya, Athi River a historic development that underscores Machakos’ growing appeal to global investors.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony alongside the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry, Hon. Lee Kinyanjui, and Isuzu East Africa Managing Director Rita Kavashe, Governor Wavinya expressed deep pride in the strategic partnership and the confidence shown in her county.

“This investment is not just a win for Machakos, but a win for Kenya,” Governor Wavinya stated. “The establishment of the Isuzu Industrial Complex here in Lukenya is proof that Machakos is open for business and is the best destination for forward-looking investors.”

The new facility will focus on the assembly and distribution of high-quality automotive parts and components. It is expected to significantly boost the region’s economy by creating hundreds of direct and indirect job opportunities, enhancing the county’s industrial capacity, and positioning Machakos as a key player in Kenya’s expanding automotive sector.

Governor Wavinya’s unwavering focus on creating a conducive investment climate, improving infrastructure, and streamlining county services has made Machakos increasingly attractive to both local and international investors. Her administration’s strategic alignment with national economic goals has not gone unnoticed, with major stakeholders now eyeing the county for future developments.
