H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti once again demonstrated her administration’s firm commitment to strengthening trade and enterprise development as the County Government of Machakos intensified preparations for the 2nd Edition of the Machakos Trade Expo.

On February 12, 2026, the county government, in partnership with TJ Premier Events and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), held an Exhibitors’ Breakfast Meeting and media briefing at Machakos Golf Club to coordinate plans for the upcoming expo. The meeting formed part of Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s broader economic agenda aimed at positioning Machakos as a leading investment and business hub in the region.

Under the leadership of Governor Wavinya Ndeti, the administration brought together key stakeholders from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across sectors such as hospitality, tourism, leather, wood carving, weaving, manufacturing, banking, and other industries. The forum was graced by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Trade, Industry, Tourism, SMEs and Innovation, Hon. Sharon Muasya, alongside other senior county officials.

The Expo was projected to attract over 150 exhibitors and more than 3,000 visitors and buyers, creating a vibrant platform for product promotion, business networking, and market expansion. The meeting aligned exhibitors and partners to fully leverage the Trade Expo as a strategic avenue for marketing products, strengthening buyer-seller linkages, and unlocking both regional and international market opportunities.

The session also reinforced collaboration between the public and private sectors to ensure a seamless and impactful exhibition experience. This coordinated approach was expected to accelerate the growth of SMEs, expand market networks, and stimulate economic development across the county.

Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s administration continued to champion pro-business policies and create a conducive working environment for MSMEs to thrive. Her unwavering support for youth- and women-led enterprises remained evident through flagship initiatives such as the Machakos Youth Service Programme, which nurtured entrepreneurial skills, promoted innovation, and empowered young people to participate meaningfully in economic activities.
Also in attendance were the Chief Officer for SMEs, Ms. Winnie Musyoki, the Chief Officer for Youth and Sports, Mr. Bruce Isika, and other county officials who reaffirmed the county’s commitment to delivering a successful Trade Expo.

Through strategic partnerships and deliberate policy direction, Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s administration reaffirmed that Machakos remained one of the best destinations for investment, trade, and sustainable economic growth.
