Kitui County Minister for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Generali Fredrick Kimanga, today led the ward-level public participation forum in Mutha Ward, marking a key step in validating development projects earmarked for the FY 2026/2027 County Integrated Development Process (CLIDP).
The forum, held concurrently across all wards in the county, seeks to confirm projects prioritized during village-level engagements and identify those that have a broader impact across entire wards.
Mutha Ward has been allocated KES 13,500,000 under the CLIDP framework. The funds will be distributed as follows:
70% (KES 9,450,000) directed to village-level projects as identified and endorsed by residents during earlier public participation meetings.
30% (KES 4,050,000) dedicated to ward-wide projects that will benefit multiple villages and enhance shared community infrastructure.
During the engagement, Minister Kimanga emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency, community-driven planning, and equitable resource allocation, noting that the validation process ensures accountability and alignment with the people’s priorities.
The exercise also highlighted ongoing identification of sand dam projects and other community-priority interventions, which will continue to be refined at the village level to ensure accuracy and relevance to local needs.
The forum was attended by Mutha MCA Dominic Mwamisi, Ward Administrator Mr. Steve Muema, and all seven Village Administrators from the ward, who played a key role in coordinating and overseeing the process. County technical officers were also present to guide discussions and ensure full compliance with CLIDP guidelines.
The simultaneous ward-level validation barazas held across the county reaffirm Kitui’s commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring residents have a direct voice in shaping their development agenda for the 2026/2027 financial year.
