Kitui West Awaits Transformative Leadership as Incoming MP Kimanga Visits Community in Mourning

Incoming Kitui West Member of Parliament Waziri Generali Fredrick Kimanga on Friday continued to consolidate his grassroots connection after condoling with the family of Mutua Loka following the death of Mary Kisua Mutua, during her burial ceremony held at Syokithumbi Village, Kwa Mutonga area in Kithumula Ward, Kitui West Sub-County.

Speaking to residents during the burial, Kimanga, who currently serves as the Kitui County Executive Committee Member for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, positioned himself as a development-focused leader ready to take over the Kitui West parliamentary seat in 2027.

In a move seen as reinforcing his growing political influence in the constituency, Kimanga announced that his department would oversee the installation of street lights in key trading centres across Kitui West as part of a wider plan to enhance security, stimulate local economies and modernize rural towns.

The areas set to benefit from the street lighting programme include Manze Itumo, Mikuyumikya, Kwa Kitisya and Kithuiani, a commitment that drew applause from residents who described the announcement as a clear sign of practical leadership.

“As we approach 2027, our people want leaders who deliver and understand their daily challenges. Street lighting is not just about light; it is about security, business growth and dignity for our communities,” Kimanga said.

The incoming legislator further aligned his political vision with the leadership of Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, crediting the county administration for prioritizing inclusive development and enabling departments to deliver tangible projects at the grassroots level.

Kimanga emphasized that his bid for the Kitui West parliamentary seat is anchored on continuity, experience and results, noting that his record in the county executive has prepared him to effectively represent the constituency at the national level.
Residents in attendance observed that Kimanga’s presence and development assurances during community gatherings reflect a leadership style rooted in accessibility and service, a factor many believe positions him strongly ahead of the 2027 General Election.
