Kitui Youths Unanimously Endorse Nicholas Mulila for Governor, Push for Inclusion and Development Agenda

More than 1,000 youths drawn from various wards across Kitui County today held a high-level consultative meeting where they unanimously endorsed Nicholas Mulila for the county governorship ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The youth-led engagement forum focused on inclusion, development, governance and the future of young people in Kitui County, with participants outlining the kind of leadership and policies they would like to see implemented.

During the consultative meeting, the youths emphasized the need for inclusive governance, equal distribution of resources, expanded employment opportunities, empowerment programs, improved education and support for entrepreneurship among young people.

They noted that for many years, the voices of youths have often been ignored in decision-making processes and called for a leadership that listens, engages and prioritizes the interests of ordinary wananchi.

The youths expressed confidence in Mulila’s leadership vision, describing him as a leader capable of championing transformative development and bringing all communities together through inclusive governance.

Speaking during the meeting, Mulila thanked the youths for their confidence and support, promising to work closely with young people in shaping policies and programs aimed at improving livelihoods and creating opportunities across the county.

He also urged leaders seeking elective positions to embrace issue-based politics by explaining their development track records and manifestos instead of engaging in insults and personal attacks against their opponents.

According to Mulila, politics should focus on ideas, service delivery and development agendas that uplift the lives of wananchi rather than promoting division and hostility.

The consultative meeting marked a significant moment in Kitui’s political landscape, with the youths vowing to continue pushing for accountable leadership, inclusion and sustainable development across the county.
