Former Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has urged Makueni Senator Daniel Kitonga Maanzo to apologise over his remarks targeting Makueni First Lady Anita Mutula, saying attacks on her amount to disrespect towards all women in Makueni and Kenya.
Kibwana noted that while the late Senator Mutula Kilonzo effectively held his administration accountable during his tenure as governor, Senator Maanzo had largely given Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr.’s administration a free pass before recently launching attacks against the governor, his spouse and the Wiper Party.
The former governor called for reconciliation, urging Maanzo to apologise and Governor Mutula to forgive him once an apology is made.
“It is a Christian act to forgive,” said Kibwana, who also offered to mediate the dispute to prevent further escalation.
He urged all Makueni leaders to exercise restraint and focus on unity, reminding them that the 2027 General Election is fast approaching.
