Makueni Partners with Engineers’ Body in Bold Move to Revolutionize Infrastructure

In a groundbreaking initiative to elevate infrastructure standards and safeguard public welfare, Makueni County has signed a landmark agreement with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).

The deal, officially sealed on Thursday by Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. and IEK President Shammar Kiteme, marks a major step towards addressing persistent infrastructure challenges in the region. Through this strategic alliance, the county will benefit from expert technical support, policy development, capacity building, and consultancy services aimed at boosting the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of public works.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Governor Mutula hailed the partnership as a game-changer. “This collaboration will ensure our infrastructure meets the highest quality standards, enhances public safety, preserves our environment, and secures our economic future,” he said.

The agreement is expected to transform the county’s approach to infrastructure planning and development, setting a precedent for other devolved units in Kenya.
