Nicholas Mulila Strengthens Grassroots Networks as Kitui South Residents Rally Behind His 2027 Governor Bid

Kitui South is steadily emerging as a key pillar in Hon. Nicholas Mulila’s grassroots mobilisation efforts, with residents and local leaders expressing renewed confidence in his vision and leadership as he seeks to become the next Governor of Kitui County.

During a series of engagements across the constituency, Hon. Mulila met with grassroots pillars and community leaders in Kanziku and Mutha, where he held candid discussions on the future of Kitui County and the need for strong, servant leadership that is firmly connected to the people.

The engagements provided an opportunity for the grassroots leaders to reaffirm their commitment to walking with Hon. Mulila in his journey to become the next Governor of Kitui County. They pledged to continue mobilising residents and building a strong grassroots movement in support of his leadership.

The leaders described Mulila as a leader who has consistently demonstrated commitment to the people and one who understands the challenges facing residents across Kitui County. They expressed confidence that his experience, humility and grassroots approach would enable him to provide inclusive leadership and unite the county.

Hon. Mulila later proceeded to Athi Ward, where he joined residents, friends and family in celebrating the retirement of Miss Mathenge, a respected educationist who retired from teaching after years of dedicated service.

Miss Mathenge, who also serves as a Director at Univision Sacco, was celebrated for her commitment to education and her contribution to the growth and development of the community.
Speaking during the retirement celebration, Hon. Mulila congratulated Miss Mathenge for her distinguished service and commended her for dedicating many years to shaping the lives of learners and contributing to the development of society.

He noted that retirement marks not an end, but the beginning of a new chapter in which experienced professionals can continue contributing to society through mentorship, community service and sharing their wealth of knowledge.
The visit to Kanziku, Mutha and Athi further underlined Hon. Nicholas Mulila’s growing grassroots engagement across Kitui South as he continues to build relationships with residents and community leaders.

With the support of grassroots leaders and residents who have pledged to walk with him, Mulila’s campaign for the Kitui governorship continues to gain momentum as he presents himself as a leader focused on unity, service and the transformation of Kitui County.
