Over 10,000 Catholic Faithful Join 2025 Youth Walk to Inspire Hope and Purpose

More than 10,000 Catholic faithful participated in the 2025 Youth Walk held on Friday 25th may , in a powerful show of unity and faith. The event, which started at Holy Spirit Mulutu Parish and concluded at St. John Paul II grounds, was organized with the mission of giving hope and spiritual encouragement to the youth.

The walk was led by the Vicar General of Kitui Diocese, Fr. John Mwandi, who is also the parish priest of Mulutu. Speaking to members of the press after the event, Fr. Mwandi emphasized the Church’s commitment to walking alongside the youth through both spiritual and personal challenges.

“This walk is more than a physical journey it is a symbol of the Church’s continued support for the younger generation,” Fr. Mwandi said. “We want to show them that with faith, discipline, and hope, they can overcome any obstacle in life.”

Also addressing the press was Dr. Vincent Munyoki, a well-known youth leader and Chief Executive Officer of the Vincent Munyoki Foundation. He urged young people to stay focused and committed, especially as schools prepare to reopen next week.

“I encourage our youth to work hard and remain dedicated to their dreams,” Dr. Munyoki said. “Avoid bad company that might derail your goals. Your future is in your hands, and with discipline, nothing is impossible.”

Dr. Munyoki reiterated that the event’s primary objective was to offer hope to the youth and remind them of their potential to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

The event was filled with songs of praise, prayers, and moments of reflection, creating an atmosphere of joy and renewal. Organizers say they intend to make the Youth Walk an annual event, continuing the mission of uplifting and empowering young people across the region.
