Strategy Over Chants: Mwambua Ngozi Pushes Grassroots Plan to Strengthen Kalonzo’s 2027 Bid

Hon. Robert Mutunga alias Mwambua Ngozi urged leaders and residents in three ukambani Counties to focus on clear political strategies rather than slogans, saying there was a well-laid plan to strengthen the region’s political influence. Speaking at a burial ceremony in Syokithumbi Village, Kitui West, Mwambua recalled that he narrowly lost the Muvau Kikumuni Ward MCA seat in 2017 and said the experience had helped him sharpen his strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.

Mwambua emphasized that his renewed bid for the Muvau Ward seat was grounded in stronger grassroots networks and lessons learnt from the past. He rallied residents to support Wiper patriotic front leader His excellency Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, stating that Kalonzo’s path to the presidency depended on deliberate voter mobilisation, especially in Ukambani.

He urged relevant authorities to organise services such as voter registration and ID acquisition closer to the people, noting that many residents could not afford transport to IEBC offices. Mwambua argued that increasing voter numbers in the Kamba community would give Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka greater bargaining power at the national levels.

His sentiments were echoed by Kitui West MP Edith Nyenze, the area MCA paul maluki , and Hon. Waziri Generali Fredrick Kimanga, the Kitui West incoming MP for 2027. Mwambua concluded by challenging politicians to move beyond merely declaring Kalonzo as “the sixth president” and instead offer practical strategies, including initiatives like huduma mashinani, to secure victory.
