Anti-terror police officers were stationed across key sections of the airport, with water cannons strategically positioned in readiness for any eventualities. The move signaled government preparedness as thousands of Gachagua’s supporters, dressed in Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) regalia, began streaming into the airport to welcome their leader.

But his homecoming is already shaping into a political showdown. DCP has urged more than one million supporters to pour into JKIA, a move that has drawn caution from Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen. He warned that while Kenyans are free to welcome Gachagua, the government will act decisively should the event spiral into chaos.
The party has also planned a major rally at Kamukunji grounds, but Murkomen stressed that the gathering will only proceed if police are formally notified to ensure security arrangements are in place. “Unsanctioned rallies that disrupt peace and business in Nairobi will not be tolerated,” the CS maintained.
Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has since assured that the National Police Service is fully in charge of the security operation and expressed confidence that order will prevail during Gachagua’s return.tension as water cannons , anti- riot police deployed at JKIA ahead of Gachagua’s return
