Education Takes Center Stage as Arizona International College’s Alex Musomba Champions TVET and Student Support
In a passionate call to action, Mr. Alex Mutua Musomba, a senior official at Arizona International College, has emphasized the growing importance of education and skills development, urging recent primary and secondary school graduates to consider Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions as a strong path forward.
Speaking during a friendly football match between journalism students from Arizona International College and the TCC team from Katutu in Kitui West, Musomba praised TVET institutions for their vital role in equipping learners with practical, employable skills and helping to unlock hidden talents.
“TVET colleges offer quality skill training and provide a solid foundation for nurturing talents that can lead to successful careers,” Musomba said. “I strongly encourage all students who have completed their KCPE and KCSE to take this opportunity seriously.”
Highlighting the financial barriers that many families face, Musomba also made a heartfelt appeal to the government to offer more robust support for students from underprivileged backgrounds. He called on both national and county governments to step in and provide bursaries or grants to help ensure that no willing learner is left behind due to lack of fees.
“The government needs to stand with students and parents who cannot afford the cost of higher education. Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and no child should be denied that right,” he stressed.
In addition, he urged well-wishers, private organizations, and philanthropic individuals to join hands in supporting students who have the desire to learn but lack the financial means. “There are many bright young minds in our communities who only need a helping hand to achieve their dreams,” he added.
The match, which was held at Katutu grounds, served not only as an opportunity for recreation and mentorship but also as a platform for outreach and community engagement. Musomba used the occasion to encourage both parents and students to consider Arizona International College as a center of excellence that is committed to providing quality, affordable education.
With education being placed at the heart of development conversations, Musomba’s message resonates strongly at a time when the nation is seeking to equip its youth with the tools they need for a competitive job market.
“We must build a generation that is skilled, empowered, and ready for the future,” he concluded.
