Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has challenged the Machakos County Senator to substantiate her allegations against the county government, insisting that public statements should be anchored on facts, accountability and truth.
Speaking during a development tour in Kangundo, Governor Wavinya criticised the Senator for what she termed a failure to provide meaningful oversight while making allegations against her administration that she said were untrue and lacking transparency.
The Governor questioned the basis of the Senator’s claims and called on her to present evidence to support the accusations, saying that effective leadership demands responsibility and honesty when addressing matters affecting the public.
Governor Wavinya further defended her administration’s financial record, stating that her government had cleared all debts inherited from the previous county leadership. She said the achievement demonstrated her administration’s commitment to restoring financial discipline and ensuring that county resources were directed towards development and service delivery.
She urged the Senator to focus on facts and undertake her oversight role in a manner that benefits the people of Machakos rather than making unsubstantiated allegations.
The Governor maintained that leaders have a responsibility to uphold accountability and transparency in their public engagements, stressing that political differences should not be used to mislead residents or undermine development efforts.
Her remarks come amid increasing political exchanges in Machakos, with the Governor insisting that her administration remains focused on delivering development projects and improving services for residents across the county.
