The political temperature in Mbooni is rising, with a recent Mizani Africa online poll putting former MP Dr Michael Kisoi Munyao at 40 per cent, nine points ahead of incumbent MP Hon. Erastus Kivasu Nzioka, who polled 31 per cent.
The poll, shared on September 19, 2026, has injected fresh debate into the emerging 2027 Mbooni parliamentary contest. Kioko Ngunga polled 15 per cent, while Ndonyе Kamitu recorded 14 per cent.
For Munyao’s camp, the figures provide an early indication of support in an increasingly competitive political environment. For Kivasu, who is the sitting Mbooni MP, the numbers present a challenge to his political standing ahead of the next election. Parliament officially lists Kivasu as the current Mbooni representative.
