Themed “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” the event aims to showcase innovative, climate-resilient agricultural practices while creating meaningful linkages between farmers, agribusinesses, policy makers, and the public.

What to Expect at the Exhibition

The two-day fair will provide a robust platform for:

Agricultural education on climate-smart techniques and technologies.

Health competitions in agriculture, animal husbandry, and trade sectors.

Networking and socialization among farmers, innovators, youth, and policymakers.

Entertainment and cultural displays to promote local heritage.

A National Outlook

Though hosted in Makueni, the trade fair is designed to serve as a national event, bringing together key players from across Kenya and beyond. It aligns with the Government of Kenya’s broader agenda to strengthen food systems, empower youth and women in agribusiness, and promote sustainable economic growth under the Vision 2030 and BETA framework.

Leaders from the national government, county governments, development partners, private sector, and academic institutions are expected to attend.

Makueni’s Agricultural Vision

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has continually emphasized the role of agriculture as a driver of inclusive development. Under his administration, the county has led bold initiatives in irrigation, cooperative strengthening, and climate-smart innovation. The Grand Makueni Trade Fair is a reflection of this commitment  not just to local prosperity, but to Kenya’s long-term agricultural transformation.
