A section of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) supporters from Kitui County have extended a warm welcome to President William Ruto ahead of his much-anticipated tour of the Ukambani region, pledging their unwavering support for his leadership and ongoing development agenda.
Speaking during a press briefing in Kitui, UDA County Spokesperson Sammy Muisyo lauded President Ruto for the numerous transformative projects initiated in Kitui County. He highlighted the Ithookwe Stadium, Kitui Airstrip, State Lodge, and the Affordable Housing Project, among others, as major milestones that have brought tangible development to the region.
“As UDA supporters in Kitui, we are proud of what President Ruto has done. His government has truly shown commitment to uplifting our county through key infrastructure and empowerment programs. We are ready to welcome him with open arms,” said Muisyo.
Echoing his sentiments, Moses Munyalo, also known as mose munaa , a prominent Kitui youth leader, assured that the President’s visit will proceed peacefully and successfully. He emphasized that local residents respect the presidency and are united behind Ruto’s leadership.
“We want to make it clear there will be no disruptions, no negative chants like ‘one term’. What we believe in is continuity and progress. The President deserves his two terms to fully deliver his vision for Kenya,” said Munyalo.
Adding her voice, Betty Kyalo, popularly known as mama Tosha and the UDA Women Representative in Kitui County, reaffirmed women’s solid support for the President, acknowledging his efforts in transforming Kitui’s economy and empowering grassroots communities.
“As Kitui women, we stand firmly with President Ruto. He has remembered our county through real development projects. For a long time, Kitui was left behind, but now we can see progress and hope,” Kyalo noted.
On their part, the clergy, led by Apostle Jacob Kyalo, expressed their spiritual backing for the President, pledging to continue praying for his administration to deliver effectively to all Kenyans.
“We, as the clergy, not only welcome the President to Kitui but also stand in prayer with him. We believe his leadership will bring blessings and transformation to our people,” said Apostle Kyalo.
The leaders jointly urged President Ruto to personally address the people of Kitui during his visit and listen to their needs as he continues to implement his Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda in the region.
The President’s Ukambani tour is expected to focus on inspecting ongoing government projects, launching new ones, and engaging with residents across the three Ukambani counties Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni.
