Makali Mulu Champions Culture and Education at Kitui TTC Cultural Day

Makali Mulu today underscored his growing influence and leadership stature in Kitui County after gracing the Cultural Day celebrations at Kitui Teachers Training College as Chief Guest.

Dr. Makali, who is widely regarded as the incoming Governor of Kitui County in 2027, received a warm welcome from students, tutors, and invited guests as he joined the institution in celebrating Kenya’s rich cultural heritage. His presence added prestige and significance to the colorful event, which brought together trainees from diverse communities across the country.

The celebrations came alive as students showcased vibrant traditional dances, indigenous cuisines, songs, and artistic expressions that reflected the diversity and unity of the nation. The event not only highlighted Kenya’s cultural richness but also demonstrated the critical role teacher trainees play in preserving and transmitting heritage to future generations.

In his address, Dr. Makali lauded the students for embracing their cultural identities while pursuing academic excellence. He emphasized that education must go hand in hand with the preservation of values, identity, and moral grounding.

“Education without culture is incomplete. As future teachers, you carry the responsibility of shaping not only informed minds but also morally upright and culturally grounded citizens,” he said.
He further encouraged the trainees to remain focused on professionalism, discipline, and service to the nation, noting that teachers are pillars of community transformation.

Dr. Makali’s engagement with the students reinforced his commitment to youth empowerment, education, and cultural preservation key pillars that continue to define his leadership vision for Kitui County.
