The Ksh 22 million project was officially commissioned by Nicholas Mulila, Group Chief Risk Officer, marking a significant investment in the school’s infrastructure and overall learning environment. The project comprises five new classrooms, a modern administration block, locker facilities, a high-yield borehole serving both the school and the community, as well as a new school gate and landscaping works.

The new facilities are expected to ease congestion, enhance service delivery, and create a more conducive learning atmosphere for pupils and teachers alike. The borehole, in particular, stands out as a transformative addition, guaranteeing reliable water supply not only for the institution but also for the surrounding community.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Nicholas Mulila, Group Chief Risk Officer, noted that Safaricom Foundation has invested over Ksh 300 million in school infrastructure across Kitui County. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting education as a cornerstone of sustainable community development.

He urged learners to remain focused and work hard in their studies, emphasizing that improved facilities should translate into improved academic performance. He also called upon parents and the wider community to play an active role in supporting the school’s growth and the children’s educational journey.

Local residents and education stakeholders welcomed the development, terming it a timely and impactful intervention that will significantly boost learning standards and improve the overall outlook of Kalwilaa Comprehensive School.
